The Pigit House history

The room contains memories of the once luxurious interiors of the Pigit house. Although house № 10 on Bolshaya Sadovaya street never burned, as it has been predicted by Mikhail Bulgakov, metaphorically we can say that inside it has been reduced to ashes. 70 years of communal living and rather tumultuous later years destroyed interiors, decorative elements and many elements of the main facade and courtyard. Here you can see some kind of archeological excavations.
The exhibited drawings, documents, photographs, unique hand-painted mouldings, antique wallpaper, monumental radiators — this is all only our modest attempt to preserve the history of the house, a kind of one museum inside another one.
