Chest

Wood, paint. The beginning of the 20th century.


This all-purpose piece of furniture of peasant, merchant and middle-class life combined functions of a wardrobe, a cupboard, a safe, a bed, a bench and a suitcase. This simple little chest was found in one of the abandoned communal apartments. There is also another chest in the museum — a more representative one, with metal taps.
